covers

Looks like they use the exsisting fixing pionts which the standard protectors use!!never seen them before,do they have three holes in them for bolts to go through. How about taking the OE protectors off and sitting them side by side to see if the holes are the same:confused: very Hannibal lector :D

I Have fitted them.

Easy enough. As mentioned, they use the existing holes from the plastic guards. Forget about the little thin cover pieces though, I couldn't find anyway of fixing them, I assumed they where for the 1100.

If you have problems I can take a few photos and email too you.

Mine is an 1100. They do use the existing holes, but there are two extra brackets with them. The flat bracket is simple enough, but the box shape one is baffling me. IS IT REALLY TOO DIFFICULT to have intructions translated into English by Ttech ??

Here you go Big Lad. I have never fitted these cylinder guards, but I have tried to translate the manual to the best of my abilities.

In the package:
1 x Cylinder guard right
1 x Cylinder guard left
2 x Spacer short
2 x Spacer long
2 x Cover for second spark plug twin spark
2 x Allen bolt M6x50
2 x Allen bolt M6x16
2 x Allen bolt M6x30
2 x Allen bolt M6x10
6 x Spring ring M6
6 x Washer M6

Mounting:

Undo the 3 bolts that hold the plastic cylinder guards and remove them.

While mounting, don't tighten the bolts until they are all mounted.

Put a spring ring and a washer on all M6x50, M6x30 and M6x16 bolts.

For the double spark engine: put the M6x50 allen bolt through the narrow opening in the spark plug cover.

Now put the M6x50 allen bolt through the lower opening of the alu cylinder guard, slide the aluminium spacer over the bolt and screw it into the lower hole under the cylinder.

Put the short alu spacer between the cylinder guard and the cylinder head at the front and fix it with the M6x30 allen bolt.

Mount the cylinder guard with the M6x16 bolt at the rear of the cylinder head.

Twin spark: now bolt the spark plug cover to the cylinder head with the M6x10 allen bolt.

Tighten all bolts.

Good luck,
Michel

Thanks Michel

I take it that the two bracket things that are supplied don't get used ?. I can't see any mention of fitting them. One is a square type metal bracket and the other a flat bracket.

I couldn't find anyway of fitting them, so left the off.

The box shaped bracket is used for the 'twin spark' 1150. so can be left out on the 1100 and s/s 1150. The other bracket IS used and bolts onto the main guard. This is from Nick at Touratech.

Thanks for your help chaps
