The TT version uses new hydraulic preload motors so obviously adds to costs but if your ESA motors are OK the Wilbers option is considerably less money though not low cost by any means.

What we really need is on the fly ride height like the Citroen BX/CX. Then people like me could have a comfortably tall seat but drop the bike down for town and motorway driving or up for twisty roads or off-road where ground clearance is needed.
 
Have you considered having them rebuilt ? Ktech are very good, at this time of year, you'd be looking at around a week to turn around.

I looked into the Wilbers option and yes it is cheaper, but my shocks have done 50,000 miles so the thought of buying brand new shocks and using ageing hydraulic/electronic adjusters is a bit of a worry which is why I like the complete replacement option. If my shocks were younger then I would probably go for that option.
 
The Touratech is a rebranded Tractive suspension. You might get the shocks cheeper from Holland.
No opinion on the quality of them.
 
An ESA shock rebuild costs £140 each at MCT suspension in stowmarket.
 
From what Revs told me the BMW hydraulic preload adjusters cannot be refurbished or repaired but the damping adjuster is a stepper motor that probably can be replaced.
 
The ESA equipment really gets very little use. If it's not corroded I can't see mileage making any difference.
£2000 for two shock absorbers really is silly money. Though TBH £1300 for Wilbers isn't "that" much better.
The shock rebuild is a lot more sense. Some say they perform better than new but how would anyone know.
If the TT system really is a must-have the rebuilt OEMs will easily sell and more than make the costs back compared to worn out.
