I'm looking to put Zega Panniers on my R80RT. Does anyone know if the Krauser Pannier racks will carry them or if there are racks available for the RT???

No, and No, as far as I know... Unless anyone else knows different.

I guess the pucks could be moved, but Krauser frames wouldn't be very strong.

I'm sure the frames could be custom made though.

A 1000cc conversion would be a good idea if you're going to add that much wind resistance to a 80rt.

Are you referring to drag affecting the bikes stability or its performance and fuel economy etc? I like the 800 engine you see and have always found it smoother than the 1000.

It was supposed to be a humorous comment about the 800 RTs lack of performance. Mine used to slow down in a strong headwind.

My Mono R80RT was really slow, overtaking could be a bit hit or miss... I much prefer the 1000cc engine.

I agree with the above...:) Rob F said the R80 was a slug when I 1st posted about mine... He was right and now I have a 100... The problem is they do not seem to have the power to pull relatively high cruising speeds easily and sustain them...

Personally I would wonder what major advantage the spam tins would give you apart form a bit of extra capacity... All in all, the R80 would struggle for go and the handling would be marginal with extra weight and wind resistance at the back...

i think you can buy Holan frame loops only and then get them made for your bike if you cant weld. shouldnt be more than 3 or hours work for your local welder:thumb2

its a good idea, top loading is much more conveniant

I have a pair of these in Black which would look good on the RT Frames are with them and 2 x keys

I say again the ones I have are in Black

Red is a Bit Icky!

You twist the Krauser badge about 30 degrees and then the side lid folds out with decent retaining straps and pockets If I remember correctly (makes a great Pickernick Table(as Yogi would say) if you're stopping for a brew
42 litres capacity too

I've had zega on my 1100 & 1150 GS's before and they were much easier to work with. As for the r80 being sluggish I've never had no problem maintaining motorway speeds for extended periods or the odd fast burst but I suppose they are not built for speed. I just want a tourer that's practical and reliable and fits like a pair of old boots. I can get my hands on welding gear if that's what it takes I was just hoping there was such a thing as an off the shelf set. Thanks for the replys

Chuck on a mono wheel trailer with UJ coupling. They lean with the bike and sit in the low pressure area behind the bike so don't add any wind drag.

If you're serious thanks for the tip but I wouldn't be interested in a trailer. Nice pieces of engineering though!!
