Thinking about trying one as i can't stop the buffeting off the screen on my 1100.

Anyone done the same ?
Did it have make any diffefence ?

DON'T TELL ME TO TRY TOBINATORS BECAUSE THEY FAILED TO WORK !

;)

Makes nasty gouges in the screen...................
Try an MRA adjustable screen..............

Sorry Foolish...

Have to disagree. Tried one on my Adv and it made absolutely NO difference. Only route that has worked for me (and how!!) is Tobinators. Best accessory for the GS to date (and no commission fromTobers either).

Was that on an 1100 or a 1150 ?

Touratech screen extendor

I used one last summer in France, it was loads better than the standard screen, but not perfect. I've just fitted tobinators, but not adjusted them yet to find the sweet spot. If the deflector is the same for the 1100 as for the 1150, you can borrow mine to try it out before you make your decision. But I rekon you'll find the Tobinators the best bet. It's all about trial and error really, what suits one, won't suit another etc.

If you want to try one out, email me on [email protected] , and I'll post it up for you to try out.

Cheers

the tobinator worked for me. Would not go for the TTech option as it is not a question of metres squared but aerodynamics.

I am 6ft 3-4ish

I would like to bring everyones attention to the original question
1100 being the key not 1150 or ADV but 1100, there different dont you know. :D

I've ben using one for the last year and for me it has made all the difference. I can ride at 70KMH with visor open no problem and on motorway at 140KMH don't need to crouch down to stop the noise.

It is the bees knees and has transformed my bike. I am 6ft1 by the way.
Yes it does gouge the screen so insulating tape first, I don't care though as It won't be coming off.

Is that on a standard 1100 screen ? It looks taller.

Stef, it is a standard screen.
A friend of mine 5foot 9 rode my bike without it and said for him noise and turbulance was not a problem. But for me it was. Since fitting the above it has made all the difference, is relativly cheap and easy to install.
I'm sure that there are of course better alternatives but at what cost...

Cheers Richie, i'm 6' and can just about live with the O/E screen but would like it to be smoother and quieter.

Thanx for the offer Marcus,to be honest i think i will just carry on with the standard 1100 screen as it is just about bearable.

It seems to be a bit of a science this screen thing......what suits one don't always suit another.

Cheers lads:beerjug:
