Has anybody got one of the touratech seats on their 1100GS?Are they more comfy or slimmer than the standard seat.

Triple T,

I've got one fitted and it is more comfortable than the standard seat. The narrower seat stops that bruised feeling on your arse cheeks when your doing a long run. I've got the standard seat height version which is taller than than the standard GS seat.

Down side

The quality is a bit naff considering the £200+ price tag, the foam feels like it has been cut with a carving knife, it holds water when it gets really wet and the method of securing at the back of the seat is a joke.

Plus side

Once it beds in it's comfy, I like the look and it lets you move around when your riding.

I did fit the touratech bar risers to compensate for the increase in seat height.

TT Seat

I had this seat on my now stolen 1150 since last year october.
and aalthough I didnot try it for trips longer then 500km a day,
I rode some 15.000 km with it and rally liked it.
Offroad it gives you a bit more room to shift backward and forward, and because it is smaller then the original seat, it is me a bit easier to get both feet on the ground.
Your sitting position is a bit more upright, and although it feels
very hard in the beginning I never had any trouble after more
hour rides. The only disadvantage can be the lower pillion seat
position; my girlfriend did have more problems with the smaller
distance between the seat and the pillionfootrests...
I was building a lowered set using two k100 footrests, and some 10mm aluminuin plate when my bike got stolen, so I haven't tried them..

Mines great very good when you hit the bendy bits no better or worse on the straight bits, looks the biz and with a sheep skin was fine for 4300 miles in 7 days!
