Touratech Splash Guard

Thought you guys would want to know this, I received an e-mail from Touratech today regarding their splash guard item no 044 0595 in the 2006 catalogue. I have on fitted to my bike this is what the email said.

Unfortunately we have had to recall all of the previously supplied
splashguards due to a stability issue. Letters are due to be sent out this
week explaining this more detailed. I'm afraid our factory have decided that
a suitable splashguard for the R1200GS is just not possible due to the lack
of strong mounting points and as such have removed it from sale.

Please send this back to me at the address below and I will organise a full
refund (including return postage). If you ordered this item through a
dealer/reseller please return it to them as they should receive the recall
letter.

Splash guards

Wunderlich make some and they have a clever way of mounting them.
Very straight forward- I don't understand the problem about the mounting points
A few clever brackets and that's it.

That's right I have had mine on for a while now and it seems to be rock solid.
