Hi,

I had a bit of an accident last year on my 1150 Adventure and damaged the stop on the top yoke so that the bars touch the screen on full left lock.
Whats the best fix? Take off the top yoke and repair it or just buy the Touratech hard part and fit it?

Get an old rear knobbly tyre.

Cut so a block in the centre of an 'H' section, the arms wrap around fork leg and are cable tied. Then a small square of sticky back foam ( just like on Blue Peter) is stuck to the wishbone where the block is about to touch.

Do this on each fork leg. I made these up for both my 1150s, much more effective than the TT part and cost nowt.

I would post pics but can be arsed right now:D

Or just superglue a suitable piece of rubber on the wishbone.

I would post a pic, but unfortunately I went the other route and bought the TT hardpart thinking it was something special.

Other options

or by the wunderlich. looks better and you even get a chance to make sure the dreaded bolts are not loose and the torque right:augie

Do a search on the wunderlich www an you even find the story about the "120 km/t test"

PS I damaged a 1150GS some years ago in Patagonia the way you describe and has mad sure to keep my bikes protected after that...

Now thats a feckin great idea Tim :thumb Haven't got round to sorting that area out on my bike yet but reckon I'll be hacking up the old crosser tyre at weekend now :aidan

Re-arrange these words - Horse/door/stable/shut/bolted.

I'm obviously not posting this for myself, 'cos I can read. But it reminds me of a "WToO" question that raises its head every now and then. :hide
