I purchased the pictured Touratech top box and rack for my GSA in August.
I took the top box off this morning when I was washing the bike and noticed three substantial cracks in the mounting plate where it bolts to the bottom section. The outer two cracks are completely through the metal and the centre one would be soon if I hadnt noticed it.
WTF! Had it gone through that would have been my top box bouncing down the road... I use it mainly for carrying waterproofs and lock, certainly inside the 15KG maximum loading so it has hardly been abused.
I am obviously deeply pissed off and the plate will be going back to TT UK in the morning.
To be fair the purchase and delivery of the box and plate couldnt be faulted - timely and efficient - but I am not filled with confidence about the response when I return it.
Has any one had similar experiences with this set up or any comments on TT UK regarding returns? I think I am not being unreasonable in asking for my return postage costs from Ireland to be re-imbursed too?
