TOURATECH TRAVEL EVENT

There must have been a load of tossers there today:thumb, just think, we could have jostled one another and not known. Great ride down and the long way home:thumb

hope yu got back ok Jonathon.... thought i would take the last 60miles at my pace:D

fcuking brilliant !!!!

went to oddballs rally in Wem in Friday - excellent H/R disco and band + real ale then spent afternoon with 3 year old son in Welshpool and then down to Touratech.

Wasn't going to bother with charlie and co presentation but after some of tasty real ale, really enjoyed it, thought CB answered questions well, amusing but with humility.

No doubt it was someone from this site stood outside my tent at silly o'clock, well gone, begging some guys wife for a nosh:augie

Off road Ride out was fun but I should have gone with harder group.

Met a guy who had booked on all 4 :bow

Some ridiculous over blinging - big Honda V twin with about 6 jerry cans on etc

All in all a fantastic FREE weekend

I only managed the saturday but listened to the Austin Vince talk...

Blurdy funny.....:D

more like a standup routine.

my mate Adrian is now even more fired up about riding his XL, all he said about Austin was "that bloke is just so ordinary, and they did all that with so little stuff!"

good event must make time for it and bring time with me rather than flying in and dashing out to be back at work.

What a fantastic weekend, just got home, left 6pm Saturday arrived 8pm at TOURATECH H.Q.

Charlie Boorman talk was just great, real respect after Pavey and Plumb both admited that his DAKAR ride was a good ride.

Got to bed at 1am after Car park antics watching Austin Vinces brother Gerald, well pissed trying to ride Nick Plumbs offroad SEGAWY, and many other falling and some managing to stay aboard.

Slept on the floor in the Touratech office after watching bizaarre polish travel D.V.D`s till 2am.

Today listened to 2 talks, talked to people had an amasing ORGANIC WELSH LAMP WARP £4

The sun shone, my nose is burnt, run home with fellow HOGRAOSTERS.

Just a real good TRAVEL SHOW.

Hope they make it an annual event, even met Charley and got my LWR,& Race to dakar
books signed top bloke, enjoyed looking at all the bikes in the car park.:thumb

Fantastic event, I did the off road ride 3 times. The sat 5pm off road ride advanced group was lead by Si Pavey and Boorman tagged along too. I got to ride with a Dakar Legend and Boorman, (who took great delight spraying mud all over my KTM).

Cant wait till next year

I think the funniest moment was watching Austin disappear off into the night, only to return and fly into the tent :thumb

I nearly copied Gerald's manoeuvre as I stepped onto the Segway. I think the girl gets the award for the best control. She had mastered it instantly and was even doing the slalom around the chairs within seconds

I was impressed by the young lads watching over our bikes on shifts into the night :aidan well done lad's and TT for that!

Austin's talk on Sunday morning was a lot quicker than his Saturday afternoon one. I have video'd a fair amount of it and will post it onto YouTube and here in a few days time

For a freebie event it was pretty darn good I thought, lots of people, lots of bikes and I even managed to get a piccy with Charlie Boorman (hopin that will follow later on here).
The Saturday night chat was entertaining with Simon Pavey and Nick Plumb.
Rumours are that they intend to do another next year, be good if they can provide a shower block if they do :augie
All in all though a nice wk end :thumb2

no problem with the toilets for me, used the girls in the BMW building.

very clean, even had free ear plugs with blue string.

great weekend lots of GSERS apart from one blue/white one.wonder who
the weather was very good neil hopes thay will do the same next year
hope all got home ok :thumb2

I managed to have a shave in the toilets that were in the TT building. (I should point out that when I say toilets I mean the room and not the toilet bowl :D)

The second day I didn't bother and felt like I needed a shower but didn't smell like I needed one :augie

Unlike my summer trip across Europe. After 8 hours of riding, some of which was in 36c heat I stopped at a McDonalds in Germany. A woman and her daughters sat at a table to my immediate right. A few moments later the woman was seriously not happy about something and with a scrunched up face got up and took her daughters with her.

I still wonder to this day if it was my 'Eau de GS'er' that sent her packing :augie :thumb

pack of big girlies fecking moaning about showers.... get on with it spray on some deodorant and wash when you get home.

yeah and they didn't have anywhere we could powder our nose! :D :angel

I kind of liked the dishevelled look. The bike and me were pristine for most of the weekend but riding back through Shropshire I took some country roads after I lost 'How much'. the farmers had been ploughing the fields and there was red mud everywhere. By the time I reached Cheshire me and the bike looked suitably bad ass... well as bad ass as a chubby middle aged bloke can look on a wet Sunday afternoon :)

Didn't go, but I wouldn't have been bothered by two days without a shower... I once spent a long weekend at an offroad show as part of the entertainment, when the shower block burnt down on the first evening.

By the time I got home, my Mum thought I'd got a tan!

For a free event it was bloody good, the talks were a laugh, some cracking bikes and displays:thumb2, missed the ride outs having already come from essex couldn’t really be arsed.
Only minor whinges was lack of water and the waste ground used for camping was a bit tricky to find a patch flat enough to kip on and a bit too easy to find yourself going arse over tit when looking for your tent in the dark :blast. Wasn’t bothered about showers I didn’t think I smelt too bad, though the misses disagreed when I got back.:augie

If they do it again I’ll be there, thanks to the Touratech team
:clap:clap:clap
