touratech zega xl top case

Has anybody mounted one of these on there bike? Phoned touratech as much us as a chocola tea pot! Do I need to mount it high so I can use my touratech panniers? Think I sold a big rear carrier cos I couldn't open the panniers. I can't work it out due to my pannier frames being away getting powder coated, have a nice bit of 4mm plate waiting to reinforce it all.
