I am doing a track day on Monday at Brands Hatch. I have Touretech crash bars fitted, what touches down first, crash bars or foot pegs ? It's on the Indy circuit which is mainly right turns.

Why don't you try laying your bike down on a bit of grass or something that don't scratches the bike?

Then you will se what part touching the ground...

That's a good idea but it doesn't work, the suspension is compressed while cornering , reacting to bumps, braking & accelerating.

Yeah, that and the fact that you'll have to pick the bloody thing up again!

Carefull with crashbars.
A Dutch GS'er (on a 1150) crashed in a fast corner on the road. His crashbars hit the street and tipped the bike off balance. He is hospitalised now....

That's not wat crashbars are supposed to do I guess..

My crashbars have a nice scrawp on them courtesy of Donington park. Was no problem, just a gentle scrape,I picked it up a bit and carried on,no dramas.I wouldn't worry really. You've got to get it over a flippin' long way before anything does touch down tho'. :thumb

On the left, the sidestand end will go down first. Then peg and then the shaft of the sidestand.

Do a search on this in ADVrider. ISTR someone else looking into this and doing the measurements etc.

Shurv, was that with Touretech crash bars? did you adjust the susoension? today I wound the front uo 4 positions & the rear to medium hard, that seemed to raise the bike quite a bit.

borrow a gxr 750 it be a lot less stressful
