Tracker or Alarm/Immobilizer???

My Alarm/Immobilizer has just giving up the ghost. After a speaking to the manufacturer, they inform me the internal battery is knackered!!! As the unit is sealed, the whole thing needs to be replaced

I have considered replacing it with a tracker but I am unsure.

Any thoughts/advice please
