Traffic Chaos

En route from Winlaton to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea admired a tailback from Gosforth Park to A19 junction, burned-oot van on southbound cabbage-way and fire engines, plod and the entire regiment of Traffic Wombles, all parked up, lights a-flashing.....

Tried to escape from Newbiggin at about 3pm and they'd closed the Spine Road south... was forced to detour via Ashington and Bedlington to get back to Kenton.

Nowt on the news.....

First one was due to the van on fire carrying chemicals likely to give off a nice cloud of toxic chlorine gas and the prevailing winds.
Second one was for a fatal accident , I know because I was at both for over 4 hours helping to divert traffic and fending off questions from idiots who think it is fine to try and drive through cones and emergency service vehicles that have a road blocked off.
Honestly we do not block off major arterial routes for the fun of it !!!!!!
