Trail Ride Saturday 1st September KENT

For those that want to join, here are the details......

Meet J9. M20 services (Leeds Castle exit) on petrol forecourt at 9:30am with an aim to leave at 10am.

Finish around 3pm (depending on how we get on) somewhere near the
M20/A20 between Folkstone and Maidstone.

Ride consists of fairly easy (well it was a couple of weeks ago:rolleyes:) byeways that are ideal for the bigger bikes. I will be on my KTM990 with standard Scorpions as my TKC's will still be in the post :(

Should be about 70-80 miles in total. All road sections between byeways are short.

Lunch will be en route or at a spar shop :nenau

The more the merrier!

Yes I'll be there. I did sort of allow my beloved and wonderfull wife to believe that the KLR 250 I just bought might in some way be used to stop the GS getting wrecked off road, so I might have to use it for this day. Still I'm sure it will be a great day out as it was last time. And hopefully Kev can make it and survive without the bike letting go this time.

I'd love to join you. However I pick my spanking new GSA up on that morning and don't feel I'd be able to trail ride it on the first day!.........Am I a tart......Probably!

Would love to join you guys on the rideout, need to check schedule and will confirm shortly. Porbably two of us one on HP2 and other on KLR if thats ok :thumb2

Junction 8. Not Junction 9.

For some reason I cant edit my first post :nenau

I made a mistake with the Junction number.

The services are at Junction 8 of the M20, NOT Junction 9.

Wont be there as im doing another off road event that weekend (Horizons Unlimited Mountain Madness ) in Spain . Will try not to crash & put any holes in my tank this time or play U-boat captain like i did on the Wombat the next day.
Have a good one & i may catch up with you for some more rides when i get back.
Cheers Kev

KLR snotter is ready for MOT. If it passes I'll be on it saturday. If not could be struggling to keep right way up on the 1200 again, but will definitly be there.
Who's in?

I'm all ready to go and I now have some TKC's on thanks to a speedy postal service :clap

KLR passed MOT. I took it for a little run today along some trails that I'm fairly sure are rupps or boats or some crap. It seemed really easy compared to the GS but it's a bit small to rest my knees on the tank. I just hope it holds together and it should be a great day. :bounce1

Sounds a good day, I'm in. I'll be on an 1150GS with TKCs or whatever they are.

Cheers, Andy

The weathers looking good so it should be fun.

Steve, are you on your own or are you bringing some others?
Maverick, are you still coming?
Andres, see you there.

I should be there from 9:30 and we will leave at 10.

Cheers

Just me I'm afraid. I'll aim to meet you at 0930 same place as last time.

Mudlover,
Hope you had a good day out. We have been stuck indoors waiting for family to come round...

JacieG and I have done the WOBMW Part One course in Wales and would like to take our 1200GS and 650GS somewhere easy and local to gather confidence on off-road surfaces. If it had not been for our commitments we would have joined you today.

Any chance you could post todays route here?

Hi CityBum,

I cant upload files :nenau

If you drop me your email address I will forward the .GPX routes to you.
It wont cover all that we did but it will get you started.
Or if you have an OS map of the area, pop round and I will mark all the routes. That way I can explain what ones are ideal and what to avoid.

We should be going out again in early October. It will either be local or we will head down to Salisbury. Either way, your welcome to join us.

Hi Mudlover,

I can't PM you either...

If possible, you could try emailing the .GPX file to me at :
zoo2"at"ntlworld"dot"com

October sounds interesting too.

Let us know when you are doing Salisbury i mite have a mate who would be interested as well. Hope you had a good time on the weekend i had a great time doing the HUMM in Spain
Kev

Hi Kevin,

Glad to hear your trip went well. Our day out was full of mishaps as usual  Steve has some photo's , so he may post them.
I am doing an ADV rider meet on 22/23 Sept in Wales so it will be soon after that with any luck.

Keep you posted.
