I recently bought a used Zumo, I've registered the unit with Garmin and now have online access to the map details and unlock codes etc. I want to transfer the map from my unit to Mapsource on my PC, but Mapsource tells me that there aren't any maps installed on the unit?

Technically it IS possible, but it will take even geeks a good few hours of research and experimentation.

However, it would be a LOT easier to get a copy of Mapsource and City Navigator and to just install and unlock them. You should be able to get any reasonable version of Mapsource and update that over the Internet, and then download the maps from the Garmin website.

I did think of paying for Numaps, but I assume that they would be downloaded to the Zumo, so how would I then transfer the updated software to Mapsource?

When you down load the updated maps it asks if you want to update the zumo only, the pc only or both zumo and pc :)

Mapsource gets updated to the latest revision too I think.
