Transferring pics from Go Pro to Ipad

Does anyone know if there is an attachment that allows the transfer of pics from the memory card on a Go Pro to iPad rather than taking a Pc away skiing? The iPad is the old cable connection rather than the small one and the Go Pro is the Session.

It's called the camera connection kit for the ipad.
The one I have has an sd card slot and a USB slot.
Unfortunately its upload only - you can't download from the ipad using this device alone.

If you take an mp4 movie, give it an 8 digit filename (e.g. abc12345.mp4), put into the photos folder on the card (I think the default is dcim\100msdcf), you can upload mp4 movies to the ipad using the same device.
Not a lot of people know that.
 
Install the GoPro app on your iPad. Connect to your GoPro session to your iPad via wifi and download. It works very well but be aware the file sizes can get pretty huge if the session is set to 1080p60fps.
 
My lad uses a wireless Usb / Sd card adaptor. Films with go pro pops card ino the usb stick which then broadcasts a wifi signal. Ipad or ipod picks it up like any other wireless source. Only issue maybe charging the stick up with no pc, unless you use cigar lighter type charger.
 
Just a warning, some of the adapters that plug into the iPad and allow you to read a memory card trigger a warning on the iPad that tells you that it won't work. If you switch the wifi to off, they do. Don't know why, but it does.

I stuck the Go Pro Session on the dash of the car just to see what sort of pics I woukd get. The thing that amazed me the most was the very short battery life, about 1.5hrs which seemed very short. Admittedly it was on continuous video and linked to the app on the iPhone at the time. Oh and unlike the other Go Pros you can't replace the battery with a spare.
 
Yes, but one and a half hours of continuous footage could be quite tedious. (dependant on subject matter, obviously. :D)
Oh, and the battery life drops significantly in cold weather.

Quite agree, I wouldn't even bore myself with that much continuous footage, I have trouble concentrating on the road for that long! Just trying to see quality and battery power. Good test of the battery life will be skiing in March.
