Hi all

My Rockster has developed a noise what seems to be coming from the gearbox area.
The noise could be described as lash somewhere within the transmission, it almost seems like there's rather a lot of play as you roll the throttle on/off and it's developing quickly.

I checked the oil this evening. There's plenty and it's clean!

Are these bikes prone to gearbox failure early in life? It's an 04 bike with 18k on the clock. The last 7k done by me in the last year.

Thanks for reading

Depends on how you have ridden it mate, alot of wheelies or banging on the throttle can kill the clutch splines which manifests as slop in the transmission, Also, driveshaft can wear on splines, they can go on for 100,000 miles like this if you change the riding style. Or whip it all apart now and fix it. Dead easy on a rockster.
