Trekker 46lt Top box

I have a Trekker top case. It's handy for carrying stuff but swapping over to GSA top case is a pain. The plate shown above is probably the best option.

Unfortunately, four M6 bolts are easy to remove and have the case away in no time - OEM BMW or Givi.

I was considering getting a 42ltr Givi Trekker Outback to go back to a more OEM look and keep the 46ltr for when I needed that extra bit of space (I know......I have problems)

Taking another close look at the Trekker 52 box, I'm thinking that the plastic used to construct the box is thinner than on the Givi Maxia box & that could be why the box flexes on the mounting plate. I've also got a Givi mount on my 1150GS and the Trekker flexes on that mount too.

It's not that the box is insecure, but I'd prefer it to sit more tightly.

Doing a bit of googling, I'm not the only one with a rattle from my Trekker box - as per suggestions on other forums, I've ordered up a cheap foam mouse mat which apparently, when fitted between the plate & box will stop the rattle !

Got the 52 for the two lids thang which it does terribly well btw.

No rattles on the Givi plate and built like a brick outhouse.

I have a 52 litre trekker I will be advertising for sale shortly. Has been a great piece of kit on the Super Ten. Recommended!

My top case rattled when I used a plastic mounting plate. Cast aluminium or the lovely (now defunct) tubular steel plate were no problem.

I bought a Kappa version of the Givi. No metal plates on top, slightly less complex key but other than that the same. I got a universal Givi plate for 35 quid and fixed it to my GSA rack using the fixings supplied. No rattles and find it's large space incredibly handy. In the past I had a rattly to box, I just cut a section of old inner tube and placed it under the rattly section and problem gone.

Not the cheapest are Givi but the plate fitted snugly with 4 bolts in 5 minutes flat and the 52 fitted snugly.

I also got the backrest which came with a nifty little 'designer' bag. Had to drill some holes to fit it, using the high tech bit of paper with marks on it but bugger me if that didn't go smoothly too:)

Good kit.
