My GSA is in for a service and ring antena and so got an 08 GS1200 loaner not the aDV Wow is it Quick!!130mph on a closed road :augie and very stable chuckable and responsive. Felt tiny after the GSA and saddle too low but I'm 6'6" so need the bigger bike. However very impressed Nice build Quality and a Good looking bike.I'm going to keep my GSA for another year the chop it in.I haven't used the GSA for a while but Heh what great bikes they are:thumb2

BMW GB / Park Lane seem to be doing the old motor trick of pre registering bikes to boost new sales figures.

They have about 5 or 6 brand new GS bikes on their "used" books. I am sure as the economic climate tightens .. they will take any silly offer :thumb

They did have similar amounts of 650's there too, but they seem to have been snapped up apart from a low seat height one.

If you have the cash .. why wait. You might get a great deal

The new 1200GS

I took delivery of mine on Thursday and i know ALL the differences but whilst running in it feels very much like my old one.(2004) For the moment I appreciate the centre stand which is much easier to use, the on board computer which has more information, and was surprised to find the non servo brakes as easy to use as my previous servo ones; it is supposed to have a better gearbox and different ratios - but my previous one was very smooth and I had no cause for complaint. The extra power and torque as a result of a compression ratio increase from 11 to 12:1 will not be noticeable for the first 1000 kms of course.
It is my tenth BM and in a long motorcycling career it is the first time I have had the same model again. (Or at least since my army days when we spent a lot of time destroying them (BSA's and Nortons) hoping to get something more modern! (Matchless) - without any success!)
