Well I set off to Austria to test the new HPN tank and oil cooler set up.
P&O from Hull cos i only live 25 mins away and you wake up on holiday.
totally uneventfull ride down to Koln apart from the fact that I now only have to stop for fuel every 200 miles or so.

then a fantastic ride down the Rhine and a night in Neckargemund near Heidelberg.

The next day was a leasurly ride down to Munchen via a few hours at the Dachau concentration camp. worth a visit if your in the area.
then a push on to Berchtesgaden in Bavaria which is just about as far south east as you can get in Germany and the home of the eagles nest, Hitlers old gaff.
we were greeted by Hans the hotel owner wearing his laderhosen.
which is slightly un nerving being hugged and slapped on the back by a 6 foot 4 man in leather shorts...!

That night was a 'few' beers in the hotel and a harty shnitzel meal.
next morning was a run over the grosslockner pass into Austria. we had to sit in a restaurant for an hour while the snow ploughs finnished opening the pass.
You have to pay 18 euros to ride the pass which is ok but to be honnest I've done much better passes for free especially the col de bonnet which is the highest in europe. anyway it was worth waiting for the ploughs to finnish as you can see. we got cought in a blizzard over the top which was very unpleasant. couldnt see a thing and the road was covered in seconds but made it back down ok.
