me and this missis go twice a year to just past Murcia well 40km past in the car
We do the Santander ferry off from Plymouth on a Sunday afternoon
This lets you have a leasurly drive to Plymouth at sensible times then board
It arrives to Santan at around 1200 noon and we drive and get to Albercete before darkness
If yer have a 1200 and push on yer may make Murcia before dark ( on motorways of course)
HTHY
Arrive Bilboa at 1pm ish and we easily got to Lourdes, however Murica is 500 miles most of it motorway so kinda up to you but is it the best way to start a holiday. Maybe better to stop at Zaragoza breaking the trip a bit.
I am not saying you can't do 500 miles we regularly do it on the homeward trip but we have all day to do.
And don't forget the tolls on an all motorway blast they quickly add up.
On the last two trips I've made to Murcia we've used the Spainish equivalent of 'A' roads and found them to be quicker, quieter and cheaper than using the Motorways, also a lot more fun.
