i have the chance to go on a trip to turkey 2 weeks riding and exploring (someone has dropped out) with the bird flu doing the rounds in this area anyone know of what precautions / advice needs to be taken.
Well unless you are a chicken or some other feathered creature you won't have a problem. It's called bird flu coz it effects birds. Only thing to do is avoid visiting large concentrations of birds (aviaries, chicken farms etc) and if you see a dead bird leave well alone. The only humans that have suffered have been people closely associated with the sick birds. I don't suppose you'll be planning to get down and intimate with any turkish birds while you're there ....will you ?
