One of the ADVRider guys over in Florida has kindly agreed to be a point of contact to assist with the arrival of my bike. He has given me his work Email, which has worked fine, but his home Email, which is **********@aol.com doesn't work. I've tried sending directly to this address but got a 'returned' notification. I therefore asked him to send me a message, which arrived OK. I replied to it, but once again got an error message. This is the start of the message - anybody got any ideas?:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

**********@aol.com
SMTP error from remote mailer after end of data:
host mailin-01.mx.aol.com [64.12.138.152]: 554 TRANSACTION FAILED:
(FSV:B2) This email has not been delivered due to an incorrect mail server setting in your email software.

I've hidden the actual Email address.

TIA

Mike:)

AOL have taken some pretty draconian anti-spam measures recently. It is entirely feasible that your email is being rejected because it doesn't like the host that your mail comes from. One thing that can screw you up is if your mail address does not match your reply to address or if you from address does not match the domain of the sending mail server.

Send me a test email to [email protected] and I'll check over the mail headers in your email to see if I can spot why they might be rejecting you.

regards,

Mike

I have an AOL address & have a client who has been unable to mail me from ntlworld.com & he reckons its due to AOL's anti-spam measures?
