Trying to recover a disk and need some help

Thanks to everyone who posted a suggestion, but I have not been able to recover the disk.

Using Clive's suggestion and download I was able to identify the partions but was not able to recover anything.

It is a Samsung disk and not a WD.

If it can identify the partitions, I'm a little surprised it couldn't find any files to recover. Have a try with http://www.piriform.com/recuva - full scan (try Images to start with)

That's a nice piece of software.

The plot thickens .... the notebook belongs to one of my wifes friends and she thinks her bloke may have deleted the photos as a spiteful gesture.
