..for two weeks from 30/31 May for three couples.

We want to be over for Race Week and stay a week after to be able to move around a bit easier :thumb

Mrs GL and I have been over a fair few times, but now we have some TT virgins that want to come over (they never could before he retired from teaching :( )

Until last week there were 9 of us (until some found out the ferry prices  ), so now we're looking for self catering for six or split 4/2 if close-ish. Or even for 4 with room to park a small motorhome :)

Just wondering if our Manx contingent might have an inside track to anything :augie

Mrs GL & I have done camping, flat, house-sitting & homestay, but the others (ex teacher, his wife, their daughter and her husband) would like to go self catering. Me, I'd be happy bringing the mobile shed (I reckon the extra ferry cost would be off-set by no lodging fees!!!)

Wasn't sure where to post this, so thought I'd try here first :thumb2

As usual, need to know we have somewhere to go before trying to book any crossings (if indeed we can)

Thanks in advance (and in hope) for any help rendered.

Lee, you've been over enough to know that you should be able to find Accommodation between now and TT 2014 but I reckon you'll struggle to get a Ferry spot for a Van/Camper.
Try and get a Crossing sorted (you only need front up £30) and then work on the Digs.

That's the thing - don't know what I'm going to be taking over!!!!

Just the usual chicken / egg conundrum

I left it too late this year and had to go to IOM via Holyhead to Dublin to IOM.

Never been to Dublin before. Really enjoyed.

UPDATE:

Now only need room / house or whatever for two couples for race week as I have now booked a chalet for two couples for race week and the week after, and a chalet for the other two couples (bro', wife, Mrs GL, me) for the week after race week.

So now it's just my brother, his wife, Mrs GL and myself needing digs :(

Why is it that I seem to end up sorted everyone else and leave myself till last :nenau

Any of our Manx friends know of a (level :augie ) spot to park a camper for a few days until I can move to the chalet???

FURTHER UPDATE

Now all sorted with a mixture of Homestay and chalets for the fortnight :thumb2

So we'll be over to annoy the Manx contingent :bounce1 (providing I can get a ferry across - I know I'll have no problem getting one back as it will be considerably quieter then) as I'm guessing there will be a gathering of some sort somewhere :friday

Ferry now booked - not quite when we wanted, but hopefully we can change it in March once the cancellations kick in :thumb

At the moment I'm not too bad, although we won't arrive till midnight on Sat 31st May in the car - but best booking I could get for my brother (on a bike!) is arriving at 1800 on Mon 2nd June.

The joys of the TT
