Sitting here sweating on the hottest day of the year, I got thinking about preparing for winter...

Optimal hand protection for the original protectors.
Very useful and pleasant in rain,
snow, hail and cold.
Easy to fix by drilling two small holes through the protector.
The spoilers are made out of resistant and light synthetic.
Very useful accessories for the GS-biker.

Are they worth having?

Given TT's legendary delivery times I thought if I ordered now I might get them in time for the first frost... ;)

I've got em and the benifit seems to be on your arms and not your hands.

i,ve got em !

And i am not sure theres to much of a benifit at all.
i had thought they would keep my hands dry in the rain but
they dont really , so for me i am not sure if they are worth it at
all .

Handlebar muffs in winter........nothing to beat them. Seriously.

A year ago I would have ripped the piss for that but I've got to agree....mine were great last winter....forget the hand deflectors, most people I've spoken to seem to think they're a nappy full of cack.

Muffs? I would rather put my balls in a mincer!
Seriously though, lots of people manage with ordinary handlebars, we have heated grips, wind deflectors AND spoilers! Add a pair of decent glover that aren't too tight and you'll be grand. I got the spoilers, they're not too expensive, if you're ordering other stuff you might as well get them thrown in.

Just what I thought until I tried them ;)

I don't lilke bulky gloves...maybe it's me being cack handed but in an emergency, I reckon the snag factor in the way they get in the way could make a difference, and Muffs allow me to wear my normal gloves all year round.

ALL year round...that's what a GS is made for ;)

Could you snag your hands in muffs if you came off? I don't mind the big gloves at all, unless it gets warm and you're stuck with them, nothing worse than sweaty hands, but that could happen with muffs too. I'm afraid to try them incase i like them.

I doubt it very much......though thankfully I've yet to test it out :D

I can say that they don't impinge on the various hand gestures that I occasionally feel obliged to make to car drivers though ;)

They take a short time to get used to, but after that, no problems.

Muffs......Only time you'll get to stick your hand in a warm muff without strings. Same street cred as Derri boots and sam brown belts. But your hands will be warm and dry in ANY!! weather
