Here's my prob folks, any insights would be appreciated.
I have a Starcom one advance intercom system on my F650. One TT lockable mount and a TT power/audio lead (with power converter).
The autocom is powered directly from the battery (it only turns on when connected to a helmet) and i have an MP3 player plugged into it.
I connected the TT power audio lead to the BMW aux power socket (the TT lead had this plug on it) underneath the left hand side front fairing. I also connected the audio cable to my Starcom satnav/aux in socket. I dropped the quest into the mount (it is a fiddly fit) and it seamed to work for a few mins then promptly destroyed the quest.
No master/forced reset would work, totally dead. back to garmin for replacement.
Now im thinking that maybe when putting the quest into the mount the 'wiggling about a bit' may have caused some pins to touch where they aught not to, does that sound feesible? or some weird feedback from the starcom1 through the aux socket.I still have the lead and am thinking of splicing it to add a switch, since the 12v supply from the socket is constant.
I dont wanto have to cough up for another wasted quest haha.
Any pity or advice would be appreciated.
