I gonna add some locks to my Zegas instead of padlocks. Each pannier lid has provisions for two locks on each end, so should I:-

1) Add all four locks that all share the same key?

or

2) Add two locks to one pannier that share the same key, then add two locks for a different key to the other one?

or

3) Fit two locks with different keys to each pannier?

Personally I'd go the four locks one key approach. Given that you're more likely to loose a key than some thief just happen to have one, and want to open up your panniers.

Have a good look..

I have two pairs of matching padlocks for my panniers, meaning i have two keys. I put a dab of white paint on one set so i know which is which.
I was going to have all four keyed to same key, but local lock smith didnt have a set of four, only two sets of two.

I would though, have a close look at the locking mechanise that is interted into the latch. The locks i have are pretty sturdy though, admittedly certainly not going to deter a determined evil git who has no regard for the panniers, just wishes the contents and is prepared to "go at it", but probably give more of a deterant than the internal ones imho..

Zega Pannier locks!!?

I used to have four padlocks and two keys and a dab of black paint on the matching ones!!

Then I got fed up of 'fiddling' so fitted the TT locks with the same key and now I'm happy.......!

Well sort of, now I've got three different TT keys.....

1 for the Zegas
1 for the Quest mount and
1 for the 'pain in the ass' locking oil filler cap.....

Happy filing!!:thumb

Bought 4 locks keyed the same for my Zegas, so only one key, much less hassle.
If you buy one of their locked oil filler cap, you can also get it keyed like the cases locks, so still one key...:thumb
