Bit of a can't see the woods for the trees, or it's just a "senior" moment but on the TT Special system 35 / 35 litres which is here: http://www.touratech.com/shops/008/...=4787&osCsid=f19d83db2101a576ff1c9212a9e6f7d1 what is the capacity of the LH pannier

I'm guessing they take a 35 litre box and you loose 5 litres for the exhaust cut out as the width doesn't look to be close to the 41 litre box.

No. You start with 30/35!

I suppose that they could call it the 65 litre Sonderset but sure as eggs is eggs someone would ask how they divide 65 in half.

Why is your 1200GS called a 1200 when it isn't?

I'll bet that if someone took a 35 litre set and measured the volume they're not 35 litre either!

I expect it goes something like this:

Touratat make a set of panniers. The rough capacity is 35 litres.

They call these a "35 litre Zega" (even though the combined capacity is roughly 70 litres).

Then they make another set with the same external dimensions but one has a reduced internal capacity owing to a recess to accommodate the silencer

This set, having the same external dimensions where it counts, i.e. how much they stick out, up/down and fore/aft.

As this set has the aforementioned similar external dimensions, Touratat opt to differentiate this set from the one without the exhaust cut-out (35 Litre Zega) by calling it a "35 Litre Zega Special-Set" (or Sonderset).


Note: If you opt to buy a set of Metal Mules instead, you may be disappointed when you open the box and find that it does not contain an Ass!

get the metal mule balanced set they are the same both sides with out a cut out if you get the exhaust as well
