Ok here is the deal, some weeks ago I was offered to test a 1200 TT spoiler (the lockable one) on my 1150, both the guy and I didn't know that it was specific only for the 1200.
Nevertheless it worked like a charm I am 1,85m tall and that little thing just transformed open highway travelling to a dream, I got to test it up to 173Km (GPS reported) without any kind of issues, apart from some small vibrations.
I kept the spoiler on the windshield for around 300Km's with no issues, so I got home ready to place an order only to find out that the specific spoiler is only for the 1200GS, and that for the 1150 there is a spoiler with a strap.
I don't really like the strap thing, and the lockable feels more secure on short stops while travelling, is there anyone who has tested the 1200 spoiler more extensively on his 1150?
Is there a chance of windshield cracking (that is my major concern, since I see the 1200 is mounted with more screws and "safety bars")?

A mate of mine has the 1200 one on his 1150gsa for over a year now and no problems, and another mate of mine ordered one from tourotech and was sorry to see it came with a strap and not the screws like the other fella.

Case settled! :)
Contacted touratech and got an official answer that the 1200 lockable spoiler is ok to go with the 1150! :)
So I am heading that way :)

Spoiler

These are good but too good in rain, it does not allow the wind to blow the rain off the visor and reduces visability very badly, in simple terms you cannot see a bloody thing!. So if pissing down take it off.

I am planning to use it only on the Highways nothing more, I am really ok with the windshield as it is on the 1150, just get a bit of buffeting when on high speeds and especially when I am behind a car or another bike, which in long term makes the journey a bit of a "headache" the spoiler will be in the tankbag just in case it's needed! ;)
Thanks for the info, hadn't tested it in rainy conditions (you know Greece :augie:augie)

i mounted the spoiler to my gsa year ago and i am very happy with that. as the adventure screen is more bigger than the standard gs screen, it helps a lot to minimize the vibration of the screen.

the only reason there are specific designs for the bikes is for estetics?

if you want a 1200 gs one order it dont worry its not designed for your bike..if it works and you like it buy it!!
