Hi,
I'm about to go on a big trip and all but one of our group have Garmins, the odd one out has borrowed a TomTom Rider (1). The TTR1 only has GB maps, what would he have to do to get full European maps and what is the cost likely to be?
Anyone any experience of converting GPX to ITN (I can do it but does it work and how many routes is he likely to be able to store on the TTR1?)

Also is the situation any different if he got hold of a TTR2?

Any help appreciated as I know absolutely nothing about TTRs but quite a bit about Zumos.

I use ITN Converter and it does work, usually use it to convert Garmin GDB (v2 only, select 'save as' from Mapsource, save will create a v3 file that it can't read) and GPX files. I have a Garmin as my main sat nav but also have TomTom Navigator on my phone. Works well with that and also Rider users who've used them on ride-outs I've organised have had no complaints.

European maps are available from TomTom HOME software which is free from www.TomTom.com

They cost around £70 currently but this varies depending on time of year and device.

Its easy enough to do buy you will need a bigger SD card, 2Gb ideally and copy the whole of the old card onto the new card before buying a new map.
