tubed on a tubeless rim

I know yer can fit um but has anyone had any issues with the valve on the innertube making a mess of the hole in the rim - Also would slime or ultraseal in the tubed tyre make it airtight - safely - fit a tubed tyre to a tubeless rim
Also where can I get a 90 degree valve for my rear rim -

You can find 90o valves on eBay quite easily. I was looking at them a couple of days ago.

Tube tyres will very likely leak air (as you suggest) if fitted to tubeless rims without a tube. This is because the tyre does not have the rubber sealing inner rim and the tighter fit of the tubeless type. You could try slime or the like, but it probably won't work and you'll end up with a bloody mess to clean up instead.

If you fit the tyre with a tube that has a rubber valve stem instead of a metal bolt down one you won't damage the rim. You might however find that the excessively wide rim on the pars wheel to make things very difficult indeed when it comes to getting the tube in place.

Personally I'd sell on the tube types and buy two new tubeless types. They use the same size on the 650 Dakar and I think (but don't quote me on that) the 800GS. so you shouldn't have any problem passing them on.

Careful here boys, the sidewall construction is different between tubed and tubeless tyres. A tubed tyre is designed to have the side wall supported by the inner tube and has no need in itself to keep the air in.

I would suggest that a tubed tyre without an inner tube is a big NO NO

The GS rims have a odd sized valve hole, so be careful ordering on Ebay, as some of the ones sold specifically for the GS dont fit, DAHIK.
If you find one that fits and seals remember to put it on the side away from the paralever, as there isnt much clearance between the rim and the paralever, again DAHIK.

I run heavy tubes in tubeless tires my GS, with a seal on the valve stem. On my bike the tires actually run cooler with a tube, presumably the heavy tube is conducting the heat round to the rim.

I cant get tubeless tires to hold air on the GS, so just why you want to risk life and rim farting around with tube type is beyond me.

Rode it to the Hograost this year no problems.
Bought a 950 KTM Adv when they first came out, that had tubes fitted inside tubeless tyres as standard. Perhaps KTM's thinking being to get the best of both worlds, slower deflation of a punctured tubeless and ease of a tube repair :nenau

Ditto above. I tried and tried to keep air in my tubeless tyre. Cleaned rim etc etc and went thru it with a fine tooth comb and could find nowt. I eventually gave in and fitted a tube. Its been ok for ages now.
 
Ditto above, '89 para. Took front wheel to tyre shop with suspected puncture as had deflated overnight. Problem was very minor corrosion on inside of rim causing beading seal to break. Shop applied a rubber solution to inside edges of rim which was dried with a heat gun. This has been ok since

That will be a complete nightmare if you ever have to take the tyre off at the roadside.
 
I assumed the shop knew what they were doing, anyhow I dont do tyres off at roadsides. I have a plugging kit under the seat failing that RAC membership !!
