Turning off the headlight

I know the answer is on here somewhere cos I've read it before. I'm unable to find it for some reason though

Can anyone please give me a headsup as how to turn the headlight off on the 1200?

Just want to try running with the lights off for a change. No, I don't know why either!!

You can also do it with the engine running. But not with the bike moving...

There is only one way to do that on my Scarver; remove the bulb.

As soon as the back wheel rotates, which it will do in neutral on the centre stand unless you stop it, then the headlight will come on again. You cannot ride the bike with the headlight off unless you disconnect the bulb.

That all depends on the year of the bike. On my 05 model, the light stays off until the ignition is turned off and on again. IIRC it changes at 08 reg
