T'was a bit windy..

yesterday at Newcastle Airport.

Gusting to 55mph, windsock was horizontal and the fire engine was cruising around waiting for something to happen.

After a roller coaster approach and a slam dunk landing (on of those where the Captain puts it down on the runway in a fairly positive manner) the pilot comes on to the intercom and says

"you probably didn't enjoy that as much as I did!"

I'm glad he enjoyed it, it certainly brightened my day

Landed at Aberdeen in similar situation, captain opened curtain and said

"hope we didn't worry you too much... because we were scared shitless"

Got to love "Eastern Airways" name was very badly hand painted on the engine cowling. Obviously the cheapest way for the client to get me there was by this flying packhorse.
