and this plonker thought he'd be OK on the snow-covered roads. Turns out I was, for a bit... but then woosh-bang-sscrriii I'm down in the white on my back.
Thankfully I only got a bruise to my neck and shoulder and the car behind had backed off a bit just in time. Oil was leaking readily from the left rocker cover so I took the easy (safe?) option and sorted recovery to Riders of Bristol.
Long story short is that I replaced the parts myself and am now back on the road again. Riders failed to order the parts in a timely fashion so I spoke to Cotswold at 12:20 on Weds and got a call on Thu at 9am to say parts were in!
Very rewarding working on my own bike. Used to all my repairs on a Series II Landy a (long) while back and a few cars since too! Last bike was the F800ST which didn't need any work (well it did, but that had to be done by the dealer).
Have a great New Year my friends and watch out for the untreated roads - I know I'm going to do it much more now.
