A mate of mine loaned me his pre65 c15/cub for a couple of trials, whilst he rode his James,
I’d not ridden a Brit bike in years and found things really hard going,
partly due to the gear and brake being on the wrong side ,more so due to my skill and fitness levels being crap.
Anyway,I had a go on his bike and found things a lot better.(gears/brakes correct)
In our post ride pint /conversation
I mentioned that I’d be better off riding his twin shock fantic,
He explained, although the bike may be better or easier to ride, the course would be a lot tougher.
Modern bikes would have the course harder again.
I’ve definitely got respect for the pre65 lads heaving 500 aerials around a course.
On another day I had a go on a bang up to date bike,
Within a few minutes I was practicing pivot turns.
