Good luck

Guy i go riding with has had both and prefers the Frantic.....Ty seems to be the most poular though in terms of numbers, i've seen the Beamish for sale on here but there are very few around being used if i trawl through the results pages (in our local club which i havn't joined yet). Yamaha Majesty seem to be the one to aim for but they command high money......i'm only going to fall off it :ROFLMAO: so dont really want anything to special....

The TY had a good engine but was let down by the frame compared to other bikes from the same era hence all the specials, notably the John Shirt Majesty. A big plus nowadays however is that spares are available, See Yambits.
Bultaco Sherpas are a good buy. Firms like In Motion specialise in them.

There is a Yammy Majesty i have just found for sale near me, i have asked for further details.
Strangely enough, there is also a Bultaco 250 Sherpa for sale in the next village to me, but, apparently they are heavier and not as nimble as the Frantics, i did go and have a look at it yesterday, just been restored to a reasonable standard as well. But it looks too nice to use

I have a whitehawk ty175 , I used it for a couple of years but now isnt being used.
Its pretty loud colour wise, not origonal , Its had a full engine rebuild, alloy fuel tank, rebuilt wheels etc etc .
Plenty more pics if your interested. Price is £2500 firm. Its had double that spent a few years ago.

Go Ty any day. Sherpa built like a tank and a heavy bike to start on.
Fantic lovely but spares etc are getting harder to find. Bit more ‘peaks’’ than the bombproof TY. Trials are full of them for a reason. Lots of Fantics being consigned to collections now.
Had all three in the day and although Fantic was my choice it was very different from the TY. A good Scorpa with Yamaha engine might suit as well if not tied to twin shock.
