Tyre fitters around Exeter Plymouth

Hey guys,

Off to Santander next Wednesday. I'm looking to change to 'nobbelies' before I get on the ferry (they are already in my shed ). Any recommended tyre fitters not too far out of the way? (Exeter, Plymouth). I have tried Ocean and they want £140 just to fit them !

Pro-tyre (Gupa-P) in Plymouth usually stock TKC's but it's worth ringing them to be certain and book a time.

They are easy to find and just off the route to Millbay Docks, in Plymouth.

Rear TKC from them in August last year was £57.50 + about a fiver for balance and a valve.

Front was £48.45.

They will let you remove your wheels and just pay as a loose fit if you prefer.

Fitted, it works out a little dearer obviously.

They will fit them for you but again you need to ring in advance. I think they will charge you about £15 for a loose fit if they don't supply.

Failing that I know of a place just outside Plymouth, off the A38, that will fit them for you.

... are two tyre places that offered TKC's, but had widely differing prices. Phone both for a quote; sorry, don't have contact details to hand.

About 15 miles from Plymouth, just off the A38 is DMS Motorcycles run by a bloke called Dan.

Nice bloke, doesn't do writing and sums but is a good independent motorcycle mechanic.

He will fit and balance your TKC's for you dirt cheap. He'll probably store and re-fit your other tyres if you asked him to.
