Hi All,
It has come that time of year again to look for new boots for the bike. I am after your great wealth of knowledge ? The bike (1150 ADV) has "Tourances"
fitted at present, is there anything better out there ? Where is the best place to get them fitted in the Edinburgh/Lothian area (that won't scratch my anodised rims) ? Also the most important thing is the "BEST PRICE" ?
Cheers Kev

P.S. I found this on the web (Tourances £150 pair inc vat/delivery).Is this as cheap as I'll get ?:nenau

Sounds like a really good price to me, but what do I know. :nenau
I recently paid £135 for a rear tourance in Inversneckie, its where I was when I needed it.
Have a look at Strathearn Tyres in Crieff. I and others have used them in the past, they offer a good service at a good price. Should just about be scrubbed in by the time you get home.

Ithink Darrens outa there guy's, ask for Steve or Mike, these guy's cant do enough for you:thumb

No, Darren's still there. He's a director of the company these days. Jason, the clothing manager, has left to travel around Europe as I discovered today when I phoned to enquire if they'd got my Tour X breath guard in yet.

Nowhere near ...

... Jockfordshire, but today I paid £176 (ride-in, ride-out) for a pair of Tourances at Essential Rubber in Dalston.

They didn't approve of Ultraseal as reckon it corrodes the rims; I think they were just miffed that I'd got 14,900 miles out of the last pair of Tourances :D

You got how many....!?!?!? Is that the sort of wimpish behaviour that you should be admitting on a ruffy-tuffy, macho forum like this one? My least rear Tourance was changed at 4.7K miles.

You ride it your way ...

... and I'll ride it mine; I know which i'd rather pay for :thumb Incidentally, the front wore at the same rate as the rear, which i thought was a bit odd :nenau

You cannot be serious????? Almost 15K from a pair of Tourances - are you definitely using the throttle or just freewheeling uphill and down dale?? Can't even get that much from a pair of pushbike tyres! You're having a larff!

You slowing down a bit these days old chap??? I thought 3,500 was about your average??? Perhaps we'll put it down to the damp roads at this time of year??:D

You really know how to p..s people off Oblertone:mad: , I was just starting to feel smug at getting over 10,000 miles from a set of almost dead Tourances:P

Guys,
Thanks for all the replies. I bought a set on EBAY for £125 plus £7 delivery.
I think I got a bargain ? I am still looking for somwhere to fit them without
damaging my anodised rims ?
Cheers Kev. :thumb

There's a guy in Broxburn who's into Supermotos who has the gear for fitting tyres.

Just found him.... Anteater.
