Tyre string/ropes in action

I used a tyre string for the first time a few weeks ago, without any gloop, and it worked brilliantly!

So when I stumbled across this vid I found it mildly interesting.

I wonder how many other repair systems would work in a larger puncture??

I carry a mushroom kit which will work for the standard nail, screw type puncture and it works really well. I recently picked up a nail in one of my car tyres and it only took a few minutes to fix and the beauty of mushrooms is you don't have to wait.

Is that a set up ? He films his self doing 120 mph on a tyre he's already repaired that day then like most of us do in that situation set the camera up to record fixing it then move the camera to get the candid shot of him taking a slash ,I'd like to see the video of him trying to get his gloves off after all that glue he'd got over his fingers

I've used 5 plugs in one large hole once when doing a Lands end to John O groats overnight ride.. It made it from Lands end to Glasgow before refusing to inflate anymore.. I was riding with Shep, Whatton and James Burton, they weren't too pleased ..

I can't see why good quality in tyre goop isn't more popular. Pucturesafe, slime, etc.

On my previous 1200 I went to the shed one day to find a front flat tyre. I inflated it only to find it leaking around the rim.
After removing tyre I found it had the green gloop added which had corroded the rim and actually forcing the tyre from the rim giving a slow leak.
I removed both wheels and the back one was equally corroded and I had to sand the rim edge in the badly corroded areas pretty aggressively to feather it out.
I vowed to make sure no bike of mine had it in again

Wouldn't that damage the tyre pressure sensors?

Which is why I'd said good quality. Ive had Slime (green version) attack an alloy rim but I was using the inner tube variety not realising there are various types. Ive had good results with Puncturesafe and a nail hole sealed with minimal hassle. When the tyre was changed the fitter wasn't fussed about dealing with the blue goop. He said its a myth that tyre fitters hate tyre sealants. The Police use Puncturesafe (old name was Wellseal) which was good enough for me.

The correct grade for the job won't rot the wheel rim.
