FYI
I sold my KTM today and learned something else about tyres.
The guy that bought it was an ex racer and immediately pointed out that my tyres although only 2500 mile old were knacked and should be changed. He went on to point out that they were blue in colour and this was caused by over heating, he suspected I had been on a track day. Apparently when tyres are used hard, poorly inflated, or the wrong rating they can overheat and render the tyre US. The blue colour is the tyre breaking down and leave it very greasy and substantially reduced grip. I checked the Internet after he left and sure enough he is telling the truth and could explain the trouble I had with the Syncs on mine letting go when pushed hard. I religiously check my tyre pressures so this confirms to my and others beliefs that the scorpion sync tyres are not good as a fast road tyre.
This is not here to antagonize anybody but to maybe provide some useful info on what to look for in your tyres.
Enjoy your trip, I wont trouble you anymore!

Very hard to find at the moment. Got them from an on-line retailer in France. Won't fit them until a few weeks before the trip, but can't wait![]()

Oh, and don't forget, they need to be properly balanced with rim weights...

Low pressure if I'm depressed, and high pressure if I'm a bit...you know...

Have changed the 13 silver rim weights for 7 lead ones. Turns out silica compound tyres are renowned for needing lots of balancingOh, and don't forget, they need to be properly balanced with rim weights...
