Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone out there can recommend a good make/model tyre set - 95% of the time I ride on tarmac. This is a super site for a newbie Gser like me - thanks all.

Probably the best tyre for 95% road use is the Metzeler Tourance. They are pretty grippy and should give about 7/8000 miles on the rear.

Bridgestone also do a very good road tyre but I don't think they last as long as the Tourance.

Hurst's in Belfast do the Metzelers at a fairly good price and a ride in/out service.

Tourance are very good. Grippy and reasonably long lasting. :thumb
Bridgestone Trailwings can suck when they are part worn. Slipperier than a greased pig.
Pirelli Sport Demons grip like snot on your shirt, but don't last long.

Hi all
using continental escapes with good results no problems in wet and good in dry and wear rate seem ok 1500 miles and no serious wear far better than trailwings which I found to be diabolical in the wet
