Hi, I'm in the market for tyres as well. I've always gone to Autofit in Ipswich with my cars and over the last 3/4 years I've done the same for bike tyres. They are very competitive, but importantly customer service is great! Both Dave (Manager) and Adrian (Asst Mgr) are bikers and Adrian will fit the tyres himself - he also is a mind of info on touring!! You can ride in/out or take the wheel(s) and tyre(s).
If you are interested, call 01473 723325 and ask for Adrian.
Try us, Balderston Motorcycles, BMW dealer in Peterborough. We have a special offer on Tourances at present, £190 all in, balanced and fitted to the bike. Call Garry to make an appointment on 01733 565470
Wouldn't deal with Balderston again. Bought my bike there but had very poor service; considering the distance travelled to get there, I can do without that.
You must have caught them on a bad Day. I left Baldos when they dumped Triumph and started to use Lings. The service at lings was okay but the competence of their technicians was questionable. Picked up a new bike having just seen the PDI sheet, left the showroom and was back in 5 mins. The brakes hadn’t been bled!!!! After the first 500 mile service I rode away and the gear change felt odd. Pulled over half mile down the road and discovered the final drive chain was so tight there was no free play without me on the bike. When my lardy ar$e was on it things got worse. Started to use Webbs of Lincoln after that. Very good but the tiger 955 build quality wasn’t as good as the tiger 900. I have since gone back to Balderstons because of their service and competence. Okay I have always said that BMWs were for grumpy old geezers with beards. My excuse……… I would rather look like a grumpy (don’t have a beard) old git on a BMW with good backup and reliable service behind me. Rather than always wondering if I will have to stop in a layby to put right what I’ve just paid for. You pays your money and you takes your choice.
