U2 this Sat do you wanta lift...

I went last night with my 3 lads. I hadn't seen U2 live since the early days so I thought I'd bring my lads to their first big concert. Foolishly I let my sister buy the tickets and we ended up in the Premium level. Fair enough I thought, once I'd got over the shock of the cost , at least with a seat I can rest my tired legs. How was I to know everyone'd be up cheering & dancing :nenau Ah well.....

Anyway, 'twas a cracking night. A good bit of the new stuff & loads of the old favourites, all sung with the help of the crowd. They certainly know how to put on a show :clap Bono dedicated a song to Aung San Suu Kyi which ended with about 50 people walking out on stage holding masks of her in front of their faces and there was a bit of Desmond Tutu promoting www.one.org but otherwise it was pure U2. Love him or loath him you can't deny that 80,000+ people singing Sunday Bloody Sunday is pretty powerful.

was there too. awesome concert. jochen - you were a bit closer to them than we were!

I just dont understand , Whats the Attraction ?
I have been to many Concerts over the Years , but it just doesnt compute !.
I couldnt listen to most of these Guys , they are not in the real world at all.

i too was there, and it was fantastic. i am a huge fan of the up-coming acoustic artist in an intimate venue, but there's something special about the kind of gig these boys put on. what's more, my mate does most of their motion graphics for their gigs, and he says that it's not down to some production manager, the band themselves are the most hands-on he's worked with in live performance, so it really is the U2 experience. however, i do know that it's now cool to have bono-fatigue, so i defer to the likes of Civil who, clearly, were born with more discerning taste than my goodself. :rob;)
