Apparently they haven't really been discovered yet.

Atleast that will actually go some, all that torque and hardly any weight....a hoot I bet.
Atleast that one has appropriate tyres.

I really don't see the point of putting TKC80's on a tarmac bike...it just says idiot to me.

Rather than the drop bars I'd have liked some conventional bars rather than clip ons.

I'd still need head guards though, id inevitably drop it.

I quite enjoyed using TKC's on tarmac as they used to be the softest tyres Conti did and I could destroy a pair in about 1500 miles, turn them blue around the edges and wear out fronts faster than rears. To be fair though, I did get accused of riding like an idiot once or twice so you might be right. Seriously though, I've surprised a lot of people on an 1150 with TKC's ;)

One of the few tyres that gets better as it wears

Back in the day when my 1150 was a regular green laner I found that low pressure in TKC's also made it extra grippy on the road, I use to leave them in the low 20's

If you take your bike offroad as well as on then the TKC will make a lot of sense...but for a pseudo scrambler that will never venture off the blacktop, I just think the TKC is capable of so much more than being wasted away on tarmac, especially now. When the 1150 was in its earlier years I'd wager the tyre selection was a bit lacking in terms of grip without going all super-moto.

I've got a TKC 80 on the rear at the moment while the a puncture is repaired on the K60Sc. they do offer way more grip than a chunky tyre like that should...but that obviously comes at a cost (monetary and life). Perhaps I'm too pragmatic/boring/tight fisted to consider wasting a good offroad tyre just for "the look".

I just got over 5000 miles out of my last rear TKC80 on the 1150gsa.

Not bad wear really, doubt if a Tourance would have been miles better :nenau
