It's not an issue of identity. It's a matter of function. The hugger keeps all manner of shyte off me and the rest of the bike. The only downside that I can see so far is that I may well have to remove it for the odd excursion off-road.

I think if you check you will note I dont deny there function. Your response to people giving an opinion was damn out of order*, so I thought Id let you have a little back.
TBH I dont give a toss whether you have a hugger or not and Im sure you dont give a toss what my bike looks like.

*Jesus, its juts not worth it, is it

Cestria, whats your bike doing outside? finished the hoovering have we?:D:D

:D

Schtum's the second coming:P The voice of moderation.:beerjug: Just doesn't it get on yer t!ts though.

Personally, if the hugger rocks your boat, why not. The information is FOC and now other members can decide for themselves if they want one too....or now having seen it, not.
You want to see the sh1te hanginging of my ADV. I could go around the world tomorow... but I am not. It rocks my boat to know I could though....if I really, really wanted too. Until then I look like a right poser, no wonder we are termed tossers.

:D

I have to say...........

...........having just fitted the black one for what it can do rather than what it looks like I think the problem with Chris' is the colour. Mine is the same as Cestria's and for a functional bit of kit I'm pretty pleased!!

Having said all that, BlackBetty you're spot on. We all have stuff hanging off our rides - if we didn't we'd be clones.

Wow! That was a "light the blue touch-paper" job.

I fitted the hugger because of the amount of muck that gets thrown on the back of my legs, at the shock absorber and swing-arm and everything in the general area.
I regard it as an investment to prevent long term wear - The paint has already been blasted off the centre-stand.

I'd argue that if you're not bothered by "a bit of dirt" then we're riding different roads. A bit of dirt often contains a lot of salt round these parts.

The colour? I wanted black but got "matt aluminium" but wasn't that bothered to swap it.

.........and to address several other points: Yes it's a sportsbike and a tourer and a trail-bike.

GS = Versatility.......remember? or are we all pretending to be round the world/Dakar/motocross heroes?

........and I've cut the grass this evening.....

Yup, Frisky me old china, hoovering all finished for this week which gives me the rest of the sunny week for trips to Devils Bridge, Alston the Lakes and anywhere else I fancy. Tough life this. :dabone
Anyway, I'm surprised you recognised it as my bike, as you have only ever seen it from the rear....at a distance... :D

Nah. If those girls would just get a room, we could get on with some real discussions.
You're just envious that none of your opinions are interesting enough for anyone to want to challenge you about them.....

Oooer! It's gone orf in me pocket.

You're right of course "TUNED IN", as everyone knows yellow GSs with alloys and matt aluminium huggers, Nippy Norman fenda-extendas and BMW crash bars are fastest...so there's no point in arguing?

:hide :D :P :beerjug:   :D

Ya cheeky bugger, its tax payers like me paying for dole wallers to buy huggers:P
all those miles,it'll be run in before you get a job:D

Youre as acurate as ever.....its flogging all the extras from my previous steed (fireblade) which paid for the hugger. :P
Do you pay tax on the black market govy jobs now then ?:D Nice of you to provide the petrol funds, if you do:D

I've had one fitted for several thousand miles - TBH it doesn't help that much :(

Top tip that made a diference on mine:

I too didn't notice much of a difference after fitting NN's extender. After one wet tirp I noticed that water was running down the inside of the mudguard and 'through' the join with the extender where it promptley sprayed all over the engine.

I took the extender off and ran a line of silicone sealant across it where it sits under the original mudguard and let it partially set before re-assembling.

Still not perfect but an easy mod that does make a difference :)

Didn't like to go out today in case I got my hugger wet.

Well at the risk of tempting another tirade of abuse: Did a 400 mile round trip last weekend.
Weather was good and only a few damp roads....littered with cow-poot and kamikaze insects....{NE to S'Port an' back for a BBQ}

Well......the bike still gets dirty, but it's not the blasted on, evil sh*te that I've come to hate and the bike can be cleaned in an hour................leaving me more time to destroy me liver

:beerjug: ....................so I won't "Be a man" and I will be leaving it on...............and as a bonus is the rear shock seems to run cooler and keep it's damping all day......

Kiss my faux-sportsbike riding b'tom.

:hogroast
