UKGS'ers around Leamington

OK, how about next Sunday? I have a nice little 140 mile route through the East Midlands area mainly on B roads which I reccied 3 weeks back. Start and finish at J2 M6 (A426). Stop for coffee half-way.

Subject to usual disclaimers (not totally pissing down, no ice/salt).

Anyone interested?

Leamington Area Run

 sorry i aint been on for a couple of days, my daughter downloaded a very nasty little virus that got through my firewalls and my anti virus failed  All sorted now:D

Unable to make this Sunday, bike in for 6000 service Tuesday and its a little over that already.

Sounds like a cop out but its true:rolleyes: HONEST

Dont give up on it people we will get a run going sometime

Regards GSGus:cool:

Who was out at 14:00 ish, on Sunday last, turning into Princethorpe lane (going up to the Woodhouse? A GS followed by an 1100S, we all waved (ahhhhhhhhhh).

gus where is it going for the service on tues?
mines in for the 12000 on same day.

Andy,

Bike is going into Clarkes of Rednal.

Funny part is you cant have a loan bike now without your own insurance to cover it:confused:

Seems they have been quoted a large amount for there loaner insurance and they dont want to pay it. Some naughty people have been wrecking there loaners and they have had to make a few claims. Are you having the call back work done at the same time:eek: ?

Regards GSGus:cool:

i'm going up to pidcocks at long eaton, just the 12000 miler. haven't got the adv so no call back work to be done (at least i havn't heard of any) must get them to look at my fork clamps though as they are bubbling up :(
no prob with loan bike there as far as i am aware, let you know for sure tues night. :)

I live near Stratford upon Avon, I am often out and about in that area and along the Fosse - normally early in the morning on my way to work !!
Heated grips - are they just the dogs or what :D

The recall i was on about was for standard GS's not the adventure.

Its all about some wires under the tank for the fuel injection and the ignition being to close together upsetting the fuel injection causing a misfire.

BMW say that it hasnt happenend to any bikes yet but could cause problems so the recall is on.

Let you all no of the outcome.

Regards GSGus:cool:

:) Well its done, the 6000 mile service i mean ;)

Had it done at Clarkes of Rednal, cost me £126.52 and they were nice enough to give it a wash for me aswell, how very nice and civilised.

Bit scared tho, asked how much for the 12000 mile service, 200 plus quid:eek: I will have to sell my bits for someones immoral pleasure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)

Regards GSGus

A group of us will be thrashing on Sunday a.m. if you want. Mine is the only GS in the group, you will have to put up with the other heathens..........

Route, time, destination not yet decided - going to t'pub tonight to see if others have arranged owt.

Nice one

Keep me informed, weather cant be any worse than todays. Bloody wind! Mind you the GS gave me a suprise, aerodynamics of a barn door and she didnt half behave herself with these strong side winds :)

I love the M40 & M42 in the rush hour:rolleyes:

Yup, they've arranged..............They're going Saturday a.m.!!

Start point outside the pub, destination unknown. None of them can read a friggin' map, either.......back before Sunday? Who knows!

I can't make it, but watch this space for the promised ride on Sunday. Am very tempted to say meet at M6 J1 (A426 Rugby) on Sunday morning 11.30ish for a 130 mile ride round mainly 'B' roads, but don't take this as gospel just yet.....

Sunday

Re: Sunday
Message from Littleredrooster:

If anybody is up for a bit of a challenge, there is a layby ( spelling?!) on the A426 just north of Junction 1 on the M6. At 11.45 on Sunday Littleredrooster will be there looking for someone to come and play with him. ( not like that!)

He would write this himself but he is currently doing the rock star thing in Tring.

Anybody wishing to attend should....... well just turn up!
He hopes to see many of you there!
Many thanks
Mini Red rooster ( LRR's daughter!)

OK, waited until gone 12:00 and no-one turned up. Bring notes from your mam next time to explain your absence. Had a good ride without yas!!!!:D

Bugger, only just looked at the forum today. Had i looked in yesterday, I'd have joined you...Damn, Damn,Damn. Spent the day fixing the clutch on my enduro bike, so I guess it wasn't totally wasted.

Rooster,
Ah, perhaps you should have stayed longer. Although maybe you had a lucky escape!
I drifted by just after 12 (came down the M6) to find not a soul. Like you I had a nice little tootle round the lanes including the A361 complete with radar trap.
I did see a silver Adv in company with a Bandit(?) - twice.

[I'm only a few miles down the road from you in Redditch.
