Thanks lads for taking the time to give me a few hints. I'm back later next week so ill start looking through all you suggestions then and will let you know what I find
quick and easy check;
turn taps off. remove the carb end of fuel line from one. put your mouth to it.
turn tap on and blow (quickly obviously - to avoid a gob full of fuel).
turn tap off / quit blowing up there.
If the filter in the tank is gummed up - it temporarily clears it, allowing full flow.
Repeat other side.
Take Bike for a run and see if any improvement. If there is - there's your problem, now fix it properly.
HTH.
I bought one of those small jewelry sonic cleaners and it works ok although you have to do it several times turning the carb different ways as the bucket is really small i.e. only 600ml. It did make a difference though.
When I checked a year or two ago they were very expensive for the bigger models but see you can pick up a 2-3 liter model between £70 and £110.
