i am trying to get the part from M&Ps who are up the road from me

Wheel bearings? Steering head bearings? You might get a better (some?) response if you post on the F650 site.

ummm forgot to say it was front wheel bearings

i have never been on the other site the 650 one but a friend checked there for me the other day and was given lots of different numbers that is why the query here

in the absence of a more helpful reply (which just suprises me / not having a go at anyone ) if you can d.i.y. and remove the wheel, get a look at the bearings;
get the numbers off them, take a (camera phone will do) pic, or give a good description to...
ANY bearing supplier. they'll give you as good as, if not better than original - and probably a hell of a lot cheaper.

took the "scenic" route through Wales on our way home last week, from the "Tour De Pyrenees" / annual hol...thought of you enroute. hope alls well over there

It looks like part number
31 42 2314 724
But check for yourself... I'm presuming those numbers are BWM numbers.

maria , just changed said item not long ago ,

you need 2off 6203-2RS bearings , thats a standard number so any bearing supplier will stock them , or http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/cgi-bin/bc_page.pl?cat=BE-KOYOMTN

, £3.91 each from them .

there is allso one oil seal but you can probably reuse it

I hope I can be more constructive than some of the responses you have received.

If you are near Oxford rather than M&Ps I would suggest going to Oxford Bearings on the Cowley industrial park (opposite the rover/mini works).

Head Bearings are SKF 320/23 X/Q
Front wheel is SKF 325/B (6203)
Rear Wheel is SKF 326/B (6204)

If your fitting them yourself I would suggest using some boat grease obtained from a yacht chandlers
