Unheated Grips

I'm pulling my bald patch out! I purchased a set of Harley heated grips and they fail to meet any reasonable standard of warmth. I will save you the long boring six month saga of my aftersales story but it is best summed up by their question following my complaint that I could not feel any temp difference with my gloves on they asked how thick my gloves were!

We all know that purchasing a Harley is a statement of vanity but boy oh boy do I wish I had accepted the Oxford grips offered to me for £38 fitted.

I can only recomend not purchasing Harley heated grips at not much south of £400 they are shite, unless any one here can suggest otherwise.

I fell into the trap of confusing premium price with premium product.

Oxford grips (which are bloody hot) are only about £90 for 1" bars...

heated grips Ultra classic

brought some hidden wire heated grips for my ultra classic, of course they will not fit because of the air anti-dive on the forks that are pressurised via the bars. So resold on ebay and brought a set of not-so-flash ordinary type but have not fitted them as it is now too cold in the garage to mess with the bike!

Although I do have them on my FLHRCI. I have used them and TBH they only really feel like they are on at position 6. Positions 1-5 seem to be useless. On 6 thou they are very warm, even through medium thickness gloves

I have had this experience,involving vibration whitefinger and poor circulation,- Heated gloves are the answer, the cables in your jacket are a bother, but hands are toasty warm!
-erm, my ultimate solution to the problem was to get rid of my harley and buy a GSA!

The other problem with heated grips is that the bit of my hands that always gets cold is the backs of my fingers, which of course have no contact with the grips.

If you must ride in the cold, get some muffs

Isn't amazing how it's the people that don't ride Harleys that are obsessed with arseless chaps.

Especially the need to mention that they are arseless. After all, if they weren't arseless they'd be trousers surely?
